JD Urbach Announces Candidacy for Baltimore County Council
Campaign Kickoff Fundraiser Set for January 9 – The Hall at North Point-Edgemere VFD, 6:00 PM
Edgemere, MD – [December 16, 2025]
JD Urbach has officially announced that he will be a candidate for Baltimore County Council in the new District 9—representing the communities of Dundalk, Rosedale and the North Point Peninsula. Urbach is a professional project manager who currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) and the Baltimore County Republican Central Committee. He was named “Dundalk Citizen of the Year” this past May by the Optimist Club of Dundalk and previously served as CCBC Board Chair, Our Lady of Hope / St. Luke School Board President and District Chairman for the Baltimore Area Council Scouting America.
Urbach has cited his deep ties to the district and love of community as motivation for seeking a seat on the council. “I’m committed to listening and bringing neighbors together to tackle the many challenges that Dundalk, Rosedale, Edgemere and the peninsula all face.” He states that his campaign will be built around promoting public safety, growing the local economy and fighting to reduce taxes and fees on hardworking families.
“I believe that county government must be responsive, transparent, and accountable. It’s the job of the County Council to advocate for taxpayers and ensure good government.” Urbach adds that “over the last three years, we’ve seen increases in taxes and fees from Annapolis. It’s unacceptable. As your County Councilman I will work to find efficiency in local government; cut spending and return money back to taxpayers.”
The campaign will hold a Kickoff Fundraiser on January 9, 2026 from 6pm-8pm at the Hall at North Point-Edgemere Volunteer Fire Department. Friends, supporters, and local business owners are invited to attend.
